Trying to find ink and toner supplies can be a serious pain for the average consumer, but much of the hassle and a large chunk of the expenses can be cut out by simply shopping for your ink refills on the internet rather than in big box retail stores. In fact, one of the greatest advantages of living in a digital age is having instantaneous access to countless competitors for almost any product that you could want to buy. There is no reason not to take advantage of that access and spend some time shopping around to see if you can find a better price or higher quality products on the internet instead of at the office supply store.

Unfortunately ink and toner supplies are sold on a razor and blades marketing strategy that emphasizes selling the base product (the printer) at a greatly discounted price in order to encourage consuming the disposable products (the ink cartridges), which are sold at a high markup. As a result we are forced to buy overly expensive ink cartridges whenever our printers run dry. It is in every individual’s best interest do search around for better prices as much as possible in order to try and cut the costs down to a reasonable level, which is where the internet comes in to play. Thanks to the ultra-competitiveness of the internet anyone can look around and find grossly discounted prices on ink cartridges from the original equipment manufacturers, or even refurbished or generic cartridges for even less money.

Do yourself (and your printer) a big favor and skip the retail store next time. Save yourself money by looking online and finding the products you need from a wholesale vendor or buying refurbished cartridges rather than the original cartridges they want you to buy. You will be surprised at the quality of printing you receive for a fraction of the price. After all, what do you have to lose?
